Journey into the Dragon’s Lair

For many long years Thomas Schulze-Westrum and Mark Strickson shared a dream: To find the largest lizard in the world - and to capture it.
On Battanta, a remote island off the West coast of Irian Jaya, they hope to prove the existence of this legendary animal and perhaps to learn something about its behavior. Their biggest problems on the island are the language barrier, earning the trust of the Papuan people, and the fact that they haven’t actually got a clue of just how you go about capturing an aggressive, dangerous, fifteen foot long lizard.

By the end of their search they are fairly certain what strategy and technique would best be employed in catching a monster tree crocodile, but there is only one way to find out for sure – by putting theory into practice.
