Fabulous Animals – Wildlife Meets Myth

Unicorns, dragons, giant octopuses – tales of fabulous, magical animals are part of the cultural heritage of peoples throughout the world. But is it all just legend? Many of these stories occupy a border region between myth and reality. South American vampire tales, for example, are based on real fear – real local vampire bats really do drink blood, spreading deadly diseases at the same time.

The journey to meet the fabulous animals covers all the continents as we track our protagonists through forests, across mountain ranges, and in ocean waters.
