“The art of seduction – in the search of castrati singers” reveals one of the most spectacular and cruel times in musical history.
The film shows how the castrati were drilled in the conservatories of Naples, it follows their biggest success on the stages of European Operas, yet it also shows the brutal evisceration of young boys and of their tragic life in the streets and brothels.
Cecilia Bartoli gives her voice to our main character, the very famous castrati singer Farinelli. The forgotten arias of the 18th Century can be enjoyed again in their full beauty.
