The two part documentary series assembles forty characters of all classes from all over the world. They live in very different circumstances. Most of them are well educated, some are pious, some are secular. But all of them regard themselves as members of one of the great religions of the world and call themselves Muslims.

„East of Eden - Islam tomorrow“ uses their stories and experiences to answer those questions that dominate the contemporary discussion on Islam.
