In August, 2001, the 71-year-old ”Raider of the Lost Ark” set out on his last extended expedition into the Amazon region of Peru in search of long-lost jungle cities. With a party of 70 horses for man and supplies and 45 machete-toting porters, Gene Savoy advanced into the dense rain forest region of Gran Saposoa.
